The book RETIEF FAMILIEREGISTER (written in Afrikaans) is publication no 14 in the genealogy series of the Huguenot Society of South Africa. It is a new improved and extended family history of the Retief family in South Africa by Dr Petrus Retief. It consists of 600 pages and contains 4000 entries. The publication is enriched with biographical details and photos of a large number of family members. It also have introductory chapters on the history of the Retif ancestors from Mer in the Loire Valley, France. There is also articles on Piet Retief, Debora Retief, the Retiefs of Welvanpas and of the Retiefs of the wagon maker industry in the Paarl
The price of the complete set (book and CD) is R350 (plus R70 postage and packing domestically, R480 abroad). Life members of the Huguenot Society of SA can purchase one set at a price of R220 (plus R70 postage and packing domestically, and R480 abroad). For orders of ten or more books, the price is R140 per book (plus postage).
